However, many people wonder why the flexible ducts used in mobile homes need a higher R-rating than other ducts. The reason is that the ducts are constantly being moved and flexed.

This movement puts a lot of stress on the insulation, reducing its ability to keep the conditioned air inside. By using a duct with a higher R-rating, you can ensure that the conditioned air will stay inside your home for as long as possible.

How serious is it if you have a pink fibery substance coming out of your air ducts cooling and heating system in a 1982 double wide mobile home? It’s a light pinkish beige color , almost looks like old insulation from underneath the mobile home! I realize that it’s not good, and I’m sure not good for your lungs. But how does that even happen? How is that getting in the air duct lines? Please , how serious is this and what should be done? We already had the lines cleaned but it seemed to make it worse? Also my lungs start hurting when it is on!😢Not good! Please advise, KH
